Maison Hermès
Tokyo - Japan
This slender building designed by Renzo Piano features a unique glass facade comprised of 13,000 custom-made square glass blocks (with smaller, curved special glass bricks at the corners of the building).
Suspended from the structure on steel arms, the glass block facade is designed like a curtain that moves in the event of an earthquake.
This translucent membrane shines at night like a lantern.
